Whit Friday 2013

Regent Community Brass made the pligrimmage north to the Whit Friday march contests in Saddleworth and Tameside on 24th May. SCABA Contest

On Sunday 19th May, both Regent bands made the journey south to Crawley to compete at the SCABA Entertainment Contest. For Regent Community Brass, it was their first experience of this type of format and the band put on a very confident show of their Beatles-themed programme. Workshop with North London Brass

On 18th May, members of Regent Community Brass joined forces with neighbouring band North London Brass to participate in a workshop led by conductor Alan Duguid, assisted by Regent solo horn, Martin Pearce. Following the band’s outstanding victory at the L&SC Area Contest, they have achieved the highest ranking in their history on both 4barsrest.com and BrassStats.com, two websites which track contest results achieved by bands around the globe to keep an up-to-date record of how they compare with their peers. Whilst sometimes controversial, both of these methods reward bands who regularly contest and achieve good results against “higher-ranked” bands in contest situations.
