Successful Concert at Church of the Ascension

On Friday 6th December, Regent Brass hosted their annual Christmas concert at the Church of the Ascension in Wembley. This event has become a real highlight of the band’s concert schedule, providing an opportunity to perform at their “home turf” as the church also provides the rehearsal facilities for both Regent brass bands. Also performing at the concert were pianist Graeme Thewlis, who performed George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” with the band in 2012, and soprano Tracy King with her accompanist Li Lin Teoh, who is a regular performer at these events. Scottish Open 2013

On Friday 22nd November, Regent Brass headed up to Perth for the third time to compete at the Scottish Open Brass Band Championships. This year, the set work was the demanding “Contest Music” by Wilfred Heaton; a piece which was originally considered unplayable when first written! Dorking – Arts Alive 2013

On Sunday 27th October, Regent Brass travelled down to Surrey for their annual “Brass Spectacular” concert with Mole Valley Silver Band. Held in the beautiful Dorking Halls, this event rounds off the popular “Arts Alive” festival and is a real highlight of the band’s calendar. On this occasion, the concert featured several works from the pen of Guiseppe Verdi and Richard Wagner, two composers who celebrate their bi-centenary in 2013. Pre-Nationals Concert Success

On Friday 4th October, Regent Brass and Regent Community Brass hosted their regular Autumn concert on their home turf, at the Church of the Ascension in Wembley.
