For the first time in their 28-year history, Regent Brass travelled to the Lighthouse Theatre in Kettering on the 26th May to compete at the All-England International Masters contest. Performing the set work “A Kensington Concerto” by Eric Ball, the band pitted their skills against 20 elite bands from the UK, Denmark and Belgium for a prize pot of £6,250.

Unfortunately on this occasion luck wasn’t on the band’s side as despite producing a solid performance they were quite pleased with, this didn’t find favour with the adjudication team who placed the band in lowly 21st place. However, the band thoroughly enjoyed the chance to perform for the first time at this event and certainly are aiming to come back stronger at their next contest outing, the National Finals in October.

The band would like to congratulate the victors, Seindorf Beaumaris band from Wales, on their fine victory!
