Regent Brass are a British Brass Band, based at Chalk Farm, North London. Musical Director is Alan Duguid, and the band is currently in Section 1 of the National Grading Tables. We rehearse on Thursdays from 1930, at the Salvation Army church, Chalk Farm, NW3 2BL.
Regent Community Brass was formed in May 2012 to provide an outlet for local musicians, both young and old, to get involved in playing with a brass band. The band rehearses on Tuesdays from 1930, at the Church of the Ascension, Wembley. The band competes in Section 3 of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain.
Regent Community Brass has just reached its 1 month anniversary, having attracted a number of players from around the local area and beyond. MD Alan Duguid said “The standard and enthusiasm has been really impressive, with a good turnout at rehearsals and a really nice atmosphere. On the 1st June, the band headed up north to Saddleworth and Tameside for their annual trip to the Whit Friday march contests. This event has become a staple of the bands’ calendar and is an event that the members really enjoy, with this year being no exception. On Sunday 20th May, Regent Brass competed at the SCABA Entertainment Contest in The Hawth theatre, Crawley. Playing in the A section, the band performed a varied and entertaining 24-minute programme to a receptive audience and adjudicator Dr. Robert Childs.
