On the 12th, 13th and 14th October, Regent Brass had a wonderful time recording tracks for two CD’s which are due to be released at the end of the year.

The first is a recording by the band’s Solo Trombonist, Tetsuro Okamura, and features a range of great solos accompanied by the band. This CD was made possible by Tetsu winning the “Best Soloist” prize at the Dover Contest in Feburary, which included a recording contract with Clovelly Recordings. We are certain this will be the first of many for Tetsu and the band are proud to have recorded with him for his first release.

The second is a recording by Regent Brass, featuring a very diverse and original mix of music, ranging from 3 new works by Martin Pearce, Phil Doe and Alan Duguid to the highly popular composition “The Year of the Dragon” by London-based composer Philip Sparke. This CD will be the band’s 5th commercially available recording, 25 years after they first released their cassette “Intrada” in 1987.
