SCABA Contest Success for RCB

Under new MD Chris Bearman, Regent Community Brass competed in the annual SCABA Autumn contest at Crawley on 28th September. Competing in the Second Section, the band were placed second overall against 4 other bands on the day by Adjudicator Mike Kilroy.  The band also took home two special awards, The Best Horn Section award, and Bryan Long, Solo Horn took the Best Solo Horn trophy. SCABA Autumn Contest

Regent Community Brass once again made the trip down to The Hawth theatre in Crawley on Sunday 29th September to perform at the SCABA Autumn Contest. At this competition, bands had to play an “Own-choice” test piece in their relevant section, for which the band chose to perform Simon Dobson’s atmospheric “Penlee”, written in memory of the 1981 Cornish lifeboat disaster. SCABA Contest Success

On Sunday 20th May, Regent Brass competed at the SCABA Entertainment Contest in The Hawth theatre, Crawley. Playing in the A section, the band performed a varied and entertaining 24-minute programme to a receptive audience and adjudicator Dr. Robert Childs.
